Putting It Together In C

You may have noticed that under the song title the words "key of C".
The key is a group of chords that belong together. The three main chords in the key of E are; C, F& G7.

The numbers for the key of C are as follows;

1. C
2. D
3. E
4. F
5. G
6. A
7. B

Of course number 1 is C. And again number 1, 4 and 5 are the three main chords. C, F& G7. It is okay to play just plain G (or G major as we call it) in the key of C. A little trick to spruce up your songs, is the use of a seventh on your number 5 chord, just before you change to the number1. In the above song you could just play G in the G7 spot and it would sound fine.
